Clipper Banquet Room
Overlooking Lake Michigan, the Hammond Marina’s Clipper Room offers a breathtaking view and provides a serene, peaceful setting for your special event or meeting.
With seating for 100, the Clipper Room provides an in-laid dance floor, full service bar and a spacious balcony.
The professional staff is prepared to assist in planning your occasion and will work closely with you to make it memorable and enjoyable. To enhance your meeting or seminar, a wireless microphone system, pull-down screen, LCD projector and Smart TV are available for rental. Continental breakfast and box lunches may also be arranged.
Various rental rates are suited to the type of event or meeting with reduced banquet rates Mondays through Thursdays. Conveniently located 12 miles south of Downtown Chicago, five minutes from the Skyway and 1 mile north of the Indiana Toll Road, the Clipper Room is fully accessible to those with physical disabilities and has ample free parking.
- Maximum capacity : 100 people.
- The Port Authority Building, including the Clipper Room is a NON-SMOKING facility. Smoking is permitted in designated areas, outside the building only.
- Weddings/events with a "head table" or full band will be strictly limited to 80 people.
- The room is equipped with bare tables and chairs. The permit holder or caterer must provide all linens, tableware, etc.
- Decorations are the responsibility of the permit holder. The Port Authority allows 3 hours for decorating (prior to the event) at no charge. Any time over the 3 hours will be charged $100.00 per hour to be paid by the permit holder.
- The kitchen is for food staging only. No cooking is allowed.
- A licensed caterer must provide all food. A copy of the caterer's Catering License or ServSafe Certification must be on file with the Hammond Marina Office prior to the event.
- All fees may be paid with a credit card. A 15% charge will be deducted from a refund charged on a credit card.
- Marina or Port Authority sponsored events will not be charged rentals. However, deposits and fees for cleanup and security do apply.
**All events will be charged $50.00 to set up and clean the facility.
**Tax will be charged on any room rental with the exception of tax exempt organizations.

Please Note: Friday and Saturday are reserved for events serving alcohol.
Non-alcohol events who want to rent on the weekend may rent on Sunday only.

ALL FEES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE
- The hour of rental may vary during daylight hours but evening hours must not extend beyond 11:00 p.m. unless authorized by the Port Authority Director.
- Patrons must choose a licensed caterer and furnish the HPA a copy of caterer’s safe serv certification prior to the event.
- Lessee, Caterers and/or other event vendors are responsible for set up and take down, removal of all garbage to the Marina’s designated area and general clean up.
- Confetti or glitter (of any kind) is not permitted. You are not allowed to hang any decorations on the wall.
- Bands and other entertainers must provide their own sound system.
- Events serving alcohol must also simultaneously serve food. Exclusive service of alcohol is prohibited.
- Alcohol may not be brought into the facilities by patrons. A licensed employee of the Hammond Port Authority must serve any alcohol. If alcohol is given as a gift at an event, the gift may not be opened in the Clipper room.
- During the Boating Season, the Marina Deli has the ability to provide sandwiches and other food services for meetings and small gatherings. Use of the Marina Deli services does not require a caterer. The Marina Deli will not provide alcohol.
- For events that will use vendors as part of the scheduled event, a $25.00 fee is required per vendor ten business days prior to the event.
- HPA cannot store materials, supplies, or equipment. All items must be dropped off and picked up the day of the event.
- Parking is available in the guest parking lot adjacent to the Harbor entrance.
- Security will be provided by the HPA however, additional security may be required for some events at a cost of $35.00 per hour to be paid in advance by Lessee.
- Maintenance of the facility and washrooms will be provided by the Marina. However, additional attendants may be required for some events at a cost of $25.00 per hour per attendant to be paid in advance by Lessee.
- These and other requirements are established from time to time by the Hammond Port Authority and may be changed at its discretion.
- Compliance with all applicable Federal, State and local ordinances is required.
- For the purpose of the Fee Schedule, weekdays are Mondays through Thursdays. Weekends are Fridays through Sundays.
- Fees may be charged on a credit card. A 15% charge will be deducted from a refund deposit charged on a credit card.
- The Harbor Building is a NO SMOKING facility; however, designated areas on the balcony and at other outside locations are provided for smoking.
- Children must be supervised at all times. At no time will a child be allowed on the balcony without adult supervision.
- Only employees of the Hammond Port Authority/Hammond Marina can move furniture out of the room.
- If using a decorator and the decorator needs more time than three hours to set up, the Permit Holder is required to pay $100.00 for every hour over and above the three hours included at no charge.
- The capacity for weddings will not exceed 80 people. Weddings require additional furniture and usually have more decorations. This leaves less room for guests. The room becomes uncomfortably crowded if there are more than 80 people. This will only pertain to weddings.
You must submit a signed Rules & Regulations document prior to your event.
The Hammond Marina must serve any and all alcoholic beverages, NO EXCEPTIONS. The following options are available.

Security must be present at any event serving alcohol. The Hammond Marina will hire security.
